I had an email exchange with the gal who wrote a review on her blog: because she'd emailed me with positive feedback about my book and I'd asked her to post a review on Google books and/or one of the bookseller websites:
I actually already wrote one on my blog (I write reviews of many books that I read) www.sosnowy.wordpress.com Your book is very well written. I read so much non-fiction for classes and often find it very difficult to pay attention, but your book captivated me just like fiction does. I am an aspiring writer (of novels), so I pay attention to language use.
I responded:
I can't tell you how much your feedback means to me! Thanks so much for your support and for the wonderful review! I'm absolutely delighted. I knew the book would be informative, and that I'd given it my all, but I didn't really know how "readable" it would turn out.
Wow, hearing you describe my book as "captivating" is more than I could ever have hoped for, to be honest. Coming from a writer (aspiring or otherwise) that really means the world to me.
I wish you all the best with your own writing.
Thanks again,
Elayne
