VCH

Shallow VCH Piercing (with photos)

I received a message from a woman who was concerned that her second VCH piercing was still not properly placed. Turns out, she was right.

I had been so excited about getting my VCH, I've read stories, looked at pictures, everything! There was a limited number of shops where I'm living at the moment, and going to a bigger city was out of the question! I called the only shop who has a piercer at the moment, talked to the guy, he has 14 years experience piercing, and he told me he has done 100's of hood piercings. And because of this I trusted him and was actually excited about going!

The only thing is, now that I'm home and really taking a good look at it, it looks like it was done wrong!Well I took your advice, thought long and hard about taking out my surface hood piercing, and did. I waited, and got it re-pierced. This time however, I had a bit of trouble with healing as it swollen for about a week straight and slightly red. Its absolutely fine now, and I love it.

Rejecting VCH Piercing

I received this message from a woman seeking help with her VCH piercing.

Hi Elayne I am in urgent need of some help!!! I had a vertical hood piercing done in Australia back in November 2009. I haven't had any problems with it until about 3 wks ago when it sometimes became tender to touch. It's not tender all the time. mainly in the morning after getting out of bed. So i just put it down to abit of twisting or pulling during the night. It was only tender for about 2 weeks then nothing for the last week.

Then this morning i noticed that there seems to be a piece of skin missing on my hood so that i can now see straight through to the barbell (which is a straight 12 gauge bar). There is no discharge or smell and it is not sore to touch at all. I have contacted the piercer who performed the VCH and they seem disinterested in my problem but i am quite worried about it as it doesn't seem normal to me. I did go to a well known, qualified piercer who has her masters degree in piercing. I have attached some photos for you to have a look at and any suggestions you might have on what is happening and what i should do would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

My response:

VCH Piercing Misses the Mark

I received yet another message from a woman who got a botched VCH piercing:

Dear Elayne,

I'm a huge fan of your work and book! The Piercing Bible has helped me decide to get a VCH because of all the benefits it described. Sadly, I made a poor judgement call when I got it done yesterday. I did not go to my usual piercer, as it was quite expensive at his shop and I didn't want to wait to get it done. Instead, I opted for a shop where a friend of mine got his PA done and he assured me that they did a good job. He has had no problems with his PA.

After the procedure, I went to my boyfriend's house and went to the bathroom with a mirror to admire my new piercing. I was slightly horrified to find out that the bottom bead on the barbell does not rest under my hood, but slightly above it and the bead does not touch my clitoris at all. What should I do? I would really appreciate a reply, as I have no idea if I will recieve any stimulation with this piercing because of where the barbell is.

Thank you so much for your time,

Amy

Hi Amy,

Going Gyno--Gone

I got this message today:

My wife loved her HCH. Although she took it out to visit the Gynocologist. She then forgot to put it back in and subsequently grew shut in about 5 days. My question is-- can she get it done again? Will it have to be in a different spot above or below the original to avoid the scar tissue? Does she now get a VCH instead? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Thanks,
Randy

Hi Randy,

How long did she have the HCH? Sometimes a piercer can use a tool called an insertion taper to reinsert jewelry, even when you cannot get it back in yourself. The smallest taper available (usually 18 gauge) should be attempted first. If the channel is open, it may not go back up right away to the gauge that she was wearing previously. But it can be stretched back up over time.

This is a brief passage from The Piercing Bible:

Will It Close?
Depending on the size, age, and location of a healed piercing, along with the course of stretching, if any, it may not seal up completely. Most holes contract fairly rapidly and can continue to shrink over time. Over the ensuing weeks, the area will stabilize and the channel is apt to remain in whatever state it has achieved within a month or two— smaller, or fully closed.

If it really needs to be repierced, everything will depend on whether there is significant scar tissue or not. If not, then it can likely go back in the same spot. She will need to be evaluated by a comptetent piercer.

Yet Another Botched VCH Piercing

I got an email today from another unfortunate woman who got a misplaced VCH piercing that was terribly painful to receive:

Hello

I got a vertical clitoral hood piercing in Fargo, ND and it does not even look like its in the right spot. I went back and had the piercer take a look at it and she said the top is in the right spot but the bottom is off a little. I researched and researched before doing this and thought that it is supposed to go up under the clitoral hood. It is off to the side not even by the clitoris itself.

I’ve read and talked to people who have had it done and everything says that the pain when having it done was like a pinch. This pain I had was excruciating…not once or twice but THREE times. My husband was with me and said she stopped in the middle of it and went to get a bigger tube to pierce with. In getting a second opinion from another place…the lady looked at it and says, “that’s not right, I am sorry honey”. When we called back to where I got it done at, she argued and said that it was done right…after she had said that the bottom was not right. We tried to call the manager who also started a piercing school there and they said she is out of town and they didn’t know when she would be back. I was looking so forward to this and it turned into a nightmare. Is there anything that I can do?
Thanks, D.

My response:

In Penthouse Magazine

Well, it was not my photo (this time), but a 3-page spread I wrote about erotic piercing, with photos of some other lovely pierced individuals. You can read a brief write up about it here on the ModBlog website. Run out and get a copy today! It talks about the Prince Albert, Frenum, and Dydoe for men, and explains the erotic possibilites for stimulation from certain iercings. It also goes into a little about VCH piercings as well.

Watch Video Clips of Me Performing Piercings If you want to watch  how I perform piercings, you can see me doing them in graphic detail here: http://clips4sale.com/10557. There's also a great video of me examining different configurations of female anatomy and describing which piercings are possible and where exactly they chould be placed. They aren't meant as "how-to" videos, but they do show a lot about how I do what I do.
