body piercing book

The design for my website www.piercingbible.com is just about to be updated, and that's surely for the best. But, one slightly sad (but unavoidable) thing that is that my old Guestbook will be no more, and the posts will be unavailable. Some related good news is that all of my previous blog posts will still be available in the archives on the updated site. So, I've decided to make a blog post "Best of the Guestbook" to preserve some of the entries. Here we go!

I ran into this post in which The Piercing Bible was described as "Required Reading" on the topic of body modification:

This entry is more geared towards apprentices and those into the “past” surrounding our body modification industry/community,etc. However this is also very much available, immensely encouraged, for those out there who are clients/consumers or just general people interested in Body Modification. I believe these to be required reading (regardless if you agree or disagree with whats written), specifically for the typical apprentice that is starting out. They should read them and then approach their instructor/teacher/mentor and spark up discussions and healthy debates regarding this stuff.

Two books were listed in the post, (one other in addition to my own). I'm honored by the company, as the other book was Shannon Larratt's Opening Up Body Modification Interviews 1995-2008.

This book is an extremely valuable asset to any bookcase. It is very thorough in explaining all of the different aspects of piercing including aftercare, and how piercings affect your everyday life. Angel has done a terrific job in providing what is, in my opinion, the most comprehensive, and complete book dealing with piercings. I can safely recommend this book to a wide range of people from piercees, and potential piercees to parents, and the medical community - people who come into contact with piercings on a daily basis. The book is very informative and is written in a very accessible albeit conservative tone which I feel makes it an easy read for people from all walks of life. Everybody is sure to learn something from this book - maybe even piercers! The illustrations are excellent, very clear and easy to follow as well. Angel includes many useful tips including the use of emu oil and tips on changing jewellery which I personally found very helpful!

A Book Every Piercer And Piercing Enthusiast Should Have In Their Collection.

Posted 11/07/09: I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Piercing Bible" and I constantly refer back to it whenever a question in my mind arises about anything regarding piercings as it is a great resource to me. My background as a Piercing Apprentice has taught me many things, but having this book has helped me to understand even more all the details that go into each type of piercing available as all subjects are well covered. This book is easy to read, follow and understand whether you are just starting to explore the world of Body Modification or have been exposed to it for years. It is complete with illustrations and detailed explanations of the types of piercings for all parts of the body for both Male and Female. Included with each piercing description is details of what to expect from a Piercer if you're going to be pierced, which is an excellent guide for anyone who might be confused or worried about what the proper procedures are. This is a book that you will find yourself referring to over and over again for answers to questions about any piercing you want to get or already have. Highly recommended!
