I received this message from a Facebook friend:

The design for my website www.piercingbible.com is just about to be updated, and that's surely for the best. But, one slightly sad (but unavoidable) thing that is that my old Guestbook will be no more, and the posts will be unavailable. Some related good news is that all of my previous blog posts will still be available in the archives on the updated site. So, I've decided to make a blog post "Best of the Guestbook" to preserve some of the entries. Here we go!

I was reading a public profile of a young man on an online dating site. He seems like a cool dude, studying computer science with a desire to be a professional piercer. I'm not actually looking for a date--I'm happily married. But I did notice that among his self-summary and favorite foods and music, he listed his favorite books, which included The Piercing Bible:

Books: demonata series and the pendragon series. Oh, and the piercing bible. WAY better than any other bible. It has FACTS.

This book is an extremely valuable asset to any bookcase. It is very thorough in explaining all of the different aspects of piercing including aftercare, and how piercings affect your everyday life. Angel has done a terrific job in providing what is, in my opinion, the most comprehensive, and complete book dealing with piercings. I can safely recommend this book to a wide range of people from piercees, and potential piercees to parents, and the medical community - people who come into contact with piercings on a daily basis. The book is very informative and is written in a very accessible albeit conservative tone which I feel makes it an easy read for people from all walks of life. Everybody is sure to learn something from this book - maybe even piercers! The illustrations are excellent, very clear and easy to follow as well. Angel includes many useful tips including the use of emu oil and tips on changing jewellery which I personally found very helpful!

I received this wonderful message from a new Facebook friend who reads my monthly column on body piercing in Pain Magazine:

Hi Elayne, thanks so much for accepting my friend request! I just want to thank you for all that you are and do for the piercing community. Ive just begun my piercing career (2 and a half years now) and am so in love with it! I'm trying to learn as much as I can about every aspect of the industry and from that i've come to really respect and look up to you. I get so sooped when pain magazine comes into work- i open right to your section every time! I also save the pages or make a copy and save them to my reference folder..ive actually gone back to them a number of times! well let me stop gushing like a total fan girl lol i hope to get to meet you someday and again, thank you so much for all that you do and being such a great role model for me.

I just received this message from a woman I pierced this weekend at Cold Steel in San Francisco:

Subject: Thanks again Just a small note to say thank you. I felt like a 12 year old meeting Taylor Swift. LOL I adore my new body art. Thanks so much for putting me back together. I really do think you are amazing. Obviously we have never truely met personally. But professionally what you stand for and what you created inspires me and gives me a path to follow. From one woman to another your accomplishments and hard work are appreciated. It was worth every mile to come see you.

I received this message from a piercer:

"Elayne, I have been studying your book since we last chatted in the fall and it has definately helped improve my piercings and brought more people in for information on care. You have a great talent and I wish you well. Thanks again, Kelly Diamond"

It is so exciting and gratifying when I hear that my book is helping people to get better piercings or do them!

Here's another lovely comment about The Piercing Bible from a Facebook friend:

I just wanted to say I really like your Piercing Bible... I currently let my younger sister use it to research a navel piercing. I also used it to research the princess diana piercing...I have read it from cover to cover and found it to be a huge help....
